Bowman Wind provided a grant that enabled the Bowman Slope Community Cupboard to purchase a standup glass door freezer. This addition allows the Community Cupboard to expand its capacity to store and distribute perishable food items, ensuring that more families and individuals in need have access to fresh and nutritious options.
“We received a glass door freezer three years ago, and it was an instant hit with our staff and customers,” said David Horn, Vice President of the Bowman Slope Community Cupboard Board. “The upright glass door freezer allows us to store and display more frozen foods than our old chest-type freezer, making it easier for our disabled and elderly customers. The Giving Tree
Apex Clean Energy and Bowman Wind are pleased to announce that the next round of the Community Grant Program will open for applicants in January 2023. Following a $2,500 grant awarded to the Giving Tree in the fourth quarter of 2022, the program seeks to continue its local impact and will accept applicants in the new year. Grants funds are awarded quarterly to support programs that serve the Bowman area through economic development, environmental sustainability, education, and health and recreation.
“I am so grateful for the financial assistance,” said Director Edna Paulson. “Our program has grown from a very seasonal project to assisting families all year long. This is very important since we live in such a rural corner of the state with fewer immediate resources available.”
